Principal Officer Speaks to Working Women in Kumamoto

Sept. 28, 2008, Kumamoto – Principal Officer Margot Carrington spoke in Kumamoto about the challenges faced by working women in the U.S. and Japan as they try to balance work and family to an audience of more than 200.

Local professional women made up the majority of the audience, but several men, including stay-at-home fathers (one of themes of Carrington's talk) also attended and took part in the discussion. The talk was sponsored by a Kumamoto-based volunteer organization for working women.

Kumamoto's RKK TV and the local NHK affiliate aired parts of the lecture in its evening news programs. The Kumamoto Nichi Nichi newspaper and a local news magazine also covered the talk and an interview in feature articles.
