
Native Son Returns from America to Unveil Statue

Fukuoka - Fukuoka-born clay Artist Gen Kohzuru, who has lived in the Boston, Massachusetts, area for the last 25 years, unveiled a new statue in the Yakuiin area of Fukuoka City. Kohzuru and three of his children are renowned ceramic and clay artists who have contributed to mutual understanding in the arts world through their merging of Japanese and American techniques.
In this picture Kohzuru (right) is pictured with past presidents of the Iwataya Department Store and the Nishinippon Newspaper, organizations that supported his shows even before he achieved international renown.
