If you do not have a printer, you will not be able to print out the confirmation page that permits you to enter the Embassy or Consulate. If you experience any kind of problem printing out the confirmation page, please record the CONFIRMATION ID so that you can reenter the system from this page and cancel or change your appointment. You cannot reprint the confirmation page once you have exited the system. Your confirmation ID is not sent you by email, so please write it down if you experience any kind of problem with your printer.

Postpone Your Visit to the Embassy/Consulate
If You Have Flu Symptoms!

The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Japan request that any persons who have an appointment and who feel unwell or otherwise exhibit flu-like symptoms, (such as fever, body aches, headache, pain when you move your eyes, fatigue, and a dry cough, runny nose and dry or sore throat) postpone their visits to the consular section. If you currently have or develop flu-like symptoms please reschedule your appointment.

You must bring a copy of your Appointment Confirmation webpage to your interview in order to enter the building. The system will not send a confirmation email. (Print the webpage using the print button on your browser.)

Each visa applicant must have his/her own appointment. If you are applying as a family, each applying member must have an appointment.

Applications for underaged children not requiring in-person interviews may be submitted along with their parent's application without an appointment.

If you have lost the ID number or if you did not print an interview appointment letter for your interview and need the ID number to reprint, please contact the Visa Information Service by email. Please note that you will be charged and need a credit card to pay the fee.
