Ambassador Schieffer Meets International Scouts
Ambassador J. Thomas Schieffer met at the Embassy on Aug. 16 with members of the Orange County (California) Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Kagawa Council of Scout Associations of Japan. A Friendship Exchange Program between the two troops was established in 1998, during the Nippon Jamboree, a youth forum at Aichi Prefecture University. This year, five scouts and two leaders from Orange County are visiting Japan, and their ages range from 15 to 50.
